Blockhouse Blitz
Blockhouse Blitz is a unique framed digital artwork by Dex Hannon, inspired by the historic Blockhouse that guards the entrance to Blyth Port. This work began as a frame from Hannon’s film Blythian Memes before being transformed through digital reworking and hand-painted detail.
The result is a vivid composition that captures both the strength and fragility of Blyth’s coastal identity. Using glow-in-the-dark paint, Hannon adds a luminous element that reveals hidden layers when the lights fade, a reflection of how memory and place continue to shift and transform.
Each artwork is one of a kind, signed on the reverse and ready to hang. Blockhouse Blitz stands as a visual dialogue between history and renewal, blending digital precision with tactile human touch to create a truly distinctive piece of Northumberland-inspired art.
Overpainted with LIT glow-in-the-dark paint.
